BONJOUR!
Comme l’indique le titre, je vais parler de la formation que
j’ai suivie de juillet à août en Gaspésie. Mais avant de commencer, je voulais
vous faire savoir qu’à partir de demain je publierai un billet par jour pendant
une semaine, comme j’ai fait à la semaine de relâche.
La formation en tant que telle, le PAM (programme assistant-moniteur)
est une formation pour devenir moniteur dans un camp certifié. Vous y apprenez
pleins de trucs du genre les types de personnalités d’enfants, les méthodes d’animation,
comment intervenir, etc. Après cette théorie, vous passez un test (du DAFA)
puis vous commencez un stage évalué où
vous devez animer un groupe par vous-même. J’ai trouvé certains aspects plus ardus
comme prendre le leadership d’un groupe
et avoir confiance en ce que je faisais (la plupart du temps, c’était un peu n’importe
quoi!). C’était aussi difficile d’être loin de chez soi pendant aussi
longtemps. Mais j’ai adoré l’endroit (Gaspésie, je t’aime!) et mon groupe était
inoubliable. C’était difficile de faire mes adieux, mais j’étais en même temps
très heureuse de la tournure de mon projet.
Je ne sais pas si un jour je travaillerai dans un camp, je
verrai comment je me sens à 17 ans, mais s’il y a une chose de certaine c’est
que je ne regretterai jamais d’y être allée!

Today, as
the title says, I’m going to talk about the formation I had from July to
august. But before starting my rambling, I wanted to let you know that tomorrow
I’m beginning another week of one post a day just like I did on March break.
The
formation itself, the PAM, is a program to be a monitor in summer camps. You
learn all about animating, the types of children, how to intervene etc. And
after the theory, you pass an exam (DAFA) and you began a training course where
you’re in charge of animating a group by yourself. I found some part particularly
challenging, like taking the lead of a group and being confident about what you’re
doing (and most of the time I didn’t even knew what I was doing) . It was also hard to be away from home for
that long! But I loved the place (Gaspésie is so beautiful) and my group was
also unforgettable. It was really hard to say goodbye, but I was so happy of
how this project turned out at the same time.
I’m still
not sure about working at a camp; I’ll see how I feel about it at seventeen, but if one
thing is sure, it’s that’ll never regret it!
