You are what you love, my 17th birthday

On November 12 I turned seventeen. One year until I am officially an adult, but I get the feeling there won’t be a turning point where everything will be clear for me on how to act “adult-like”. Pretty sure now that even grown-ups are faking it. Still, next year will be more notably the start of cegep, which is exciting, the year I get my driver’s license (I’m a little late on that, it’s scheduled late January) and I am also planning out my summer, thinking about going as an au pair. I’m happy to be at this point, but it’s also a certain pressure when I think of my ten-years-old self, I was spending a lot of time thinking how I would turn out as a teenager, of all the things I would be doing and I became something else. I’m insecure about it; dealing with self-doubt is hard when you’ve just changed school because there’s a compulsion to act like someone else with these new people. The thing is, you are who you are, or as Laverne Cox said, you are what you love. And that’s not going away because it scares you or stoop people at school say you have “cheesy taste” (hum.. hum.). It’s ironic to read articles that tell you you’re the best, because it’s addressing everyone and not everyone can be "the best", but you have to think a little selfishly on that bit and trust that you ARE that good. Grosso modo: you’re awesome and everyone else is literal trash. That’s all the wisdom I have to serve today, now let’s see what I was up to on my birthday (see that, I’m being selfish just as I said to do):
On my birthday I went to get a haircut, and baby, the bangs are back!! I also ate doughnuts, went to see ROOM (my mom and me cried like idiots) and then we had a family dinner with Nico.
Saturday, my friends where coming over. I had this idea to make my dining room feel like a nice restaurant so I hung up tons of Christmas lights.
Gus was obviously in charge of the security and any food falling on the ground.
Morgie was there, telling us some school theater's gossips.
We ate burgers with fries and milkshakes.
 Larissa
 Michelle and Sophie
 And Charlo
Then we played some board games, I forgot to get a picture of my team with Sophie (we were called Bay in honor of switched at birth).
Charlo was included with the Asian supreme for some reason...
The Moriarty won and they won’t be allowed to team up next time. Seriously those two girls are too good/evil when they get together.
And when everyone left, Caro and I cleaned up while listening to Miley and her Dead Petz. Such a nice night, it made me realised I do have the group of friends I pictured when I was 10. Funny, creative, smart and cute as hell.

See you soon!!! You are the best ;)

Best of all | Photo diary

Since I changed school, I no longer see Caro that much. I do miss her, it’s the only thing I regret in my decision, but I feel that now when we hang out it’s so much better, there’s no stupid little fights or frustrations (usually because we can both be grumpy). Yesterday we had such a great day that we didn’t want it to end. I miss her during the week, but knowing that I have a friendship like that, it’s really not that hard to wait a little longer.
First, the gang reunited for a brunch with those fancy toasts of Instagram.
 Looking serious with chocolate milk.

Then we headed to Sephora for a brow appointment with @cath-juliette.brows. It was stressful because I thought she would remove very little, so in the middle of it I was so scared there was nothing left. Turns out I love the result and there’s no longer a “better brow” and a “worst brow”.
Then after eating dessert at Yeah! and the two of them being awkwardly massaged at Lush, Charlo left for a family dinner.
Caro being initiated to thrifting on Saint-Laurent. Next time, we will go all the way and switch from “boutique” style thrifting to “Value Village” thrifting. I think she’s ready.
She found a baseball jersey and me those really cool, really Pretty in Pink sunglasses.

Then we ate burgers with fries and milkshakes (ULTIMATE TRIO) at Burger Royal. Mine had guacamole and sweet onions ^_^
Afterward, everything was closed but we did not wanted to go home already so we strolled to Chinatown to check out the new It’s Skin beauty shop. We talked about when we would live at our own places how nice it would be to come home.

Finally, we took the metro back home, singing the very cheesy I wanna be with you and imitating girls at school who think they sing so well.

End of photo diary, have a great week <3

Last Saturday | photo diary

Top - Band Of Gypsies
Belt - Zara
Shorts - 2nd hand
Dunglasses - Aldo
Last Saturday, we took the car with the windows down to Mont Royal to take pictures at Beavers’ Lake. It was hot an humid, just like summer.
There was construction everywhere so we left rapidly to go eat at Lola Rosa, a veggie restaurant on Du Parc street. The quesadilla was good but the salad wasn’t, I don’t think we’ll go back.
Super bons!

We walked, we stopped at a few second hand shops and tasted Chez Boris’ famous doughnuts. So good.

In the evening, I went babysitting two charming kids and when I got back I put my alarm clock to make a special breakfast for my mom the next morning for mother’s day.

And Your Bird Can Sing | photo diary

During March break, my best friend Sophie and I traveled a little and went for a couple of days to my grand-parents, who live a little up north, in Chicoutimi. We had a crazy schedule, including a lot of winter sports. This snowshoe hike was a highlight of the trip, we were so excited to feed birds, I had never done it and it scared me a little at first. We took a bunch of pictures, goofed of on the trail and had the best of times.

Here's a photo diary of the hike :

I know I look stupid with my hat, instead look at my CONNECTION with the bird

Sophie's gorgeous eyes

Me trying to whistle, to call my bird friends but sadly I can't...
