It's drag time.

 Today is drag time.

I love to watch the part in Rupaul’s drag race when the queens get ready, chat and shade the other queens. I love how they slowly turn into their alter-ego when they glue down their brows, sort out their face sticks and apply their eyelashes. It’s also when the old-school queens bitch against the younger ones and that’s there’s for sure going to be one who reveals something dramatic from their childhood.

 I wanted to try it. Caroline and I always talk about our drag names (Ambiantz and dezigouâl, the spelling keeps changing) and what kind of queen we would be, more Willam or Alaska? Anyway, it was the time to try it for real and it was a lot of work and fun to do the makeup. It took hours and the more time went by and the more makeup was piled on, the more our drag personas came to life. Dezigouâl is an haute-couture queen, weird, rich and funny. Ambiantz is a little trashy, rude and hunting for a sugar daddy. They dance to American Apparel Add girl and I’m your dad now continuously. Their eyebrows are probably very wrongly glued down but their lips are well drawn. They also entertain a strong love-hate relationship because they are both shady ladies.

Room Makeover - avant-après / before-after

À mon retour du Maroc, j’ai commencé pour de bon mon projet de redécorer ma chambre. Il n’y a pas de changement drastique dans le style à part pour le papier peint. J’en voulais un noir avec un motif floral depuis super longtemps et celui-ci est parfait (à part pour l’installation que mon père n’a pas du tout appréciée). Les autres choses que j’avais inscrites dans ma liste étaient de nouvelles poignées, une nouvelle chaise de bureau, nouveaux rideaux, une couverture « grand-mère » et un rangement pour mon matériel de brico. Les couleurs se sont décidées autour de la couverte qui a été le premier achat. Je l’ai trouvé sur kijiji.com pour 35$. J’étais inquiète pour l’accord avec le papier peint, au final j’adore le résultat!

After I return from Morocco, I begin for real my project to redecorate my bedroom. They are no drastic changes in the style except for the wallpaper. I wanted a black one with a floral pattern for a really long time and this one is exactly as I dreamed (exeption made of the installation which my dad hated). Other things I had written on my list where new handles, new desk chair, new curtains, a granny blanket and a something to store my crafts supplies. The colors where decided by the blanket which was the first purchase. I found it on kijiji.com for about 35$. I was worried if it would match with my wallpaper but, in the end, I love the results!

J’ai recouvert les coussins que j’avais déjà avec des nouveaux tissus qui s’harmonisaient avec la couverture.

I covered the pillows I already had with new fabrics that matched the blanked.

 J’ai faite cette petite installation de mes œuvres avec un système de cadre que j’avais eu à ma fête. Je l’ai sablé et repeint orange avant de mettre mes dessins et collages.

I made this little installation of my art with a frame system I receive at my birthday. I sanded it and repainted orange before putting my drawings and collages.
